Native to Asia, it was located in the Mediterranean after Marco Polo's expeditions. In the 18th century, lemon juice was used to fight scurvy. Avicenna, an illustrious Persian physician and philosopher, already recommended it for digestive disorders. During the Renaissance, it will be recommended during epidemics. The essence is obtained by cold expression of the bark. It is photosensitizing, it is imperative not to expose it to the sun after use. In addition to its energizing effect, lemon oil is useful for its purifying and detoxifying properties.
